A new website was launched today – gmoanswers.com – to simply help provide answers to your questions about GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) otherwise known as biotechnology. Its goal is to make information about biotechnology in food and agriculture easier to access and understand.
Some questions include:
- How can you be sure that GMO foods won’t affect human health long-term?
- Isn’t the produce department in my grocery store full of products from GMOs?
- There are currently 61 countries worldwide that label food that has been genetically engineered. Why would food need a warning if it was safe to eat?
I especially encourage you to check out the section on exploring the basics.
Did you know, in 2012, 28 countries were growing biotech crops; others are significant importers.
